Ayurvedic medicine against dengue soon

NEW DELHI: “Clinical trials on Ayurvedic medicine against dengue are in progress and it will be launched at the earliest possible time,” said Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Naik. Speaking on the same lines Rajesh Kotecha, secretary of AYUSH ministry said, “The medicine is expected to be ready after multilevel trials in the next couple of years.”Both were speaking at the two day national Seminar on Entrepreneurship and Business Development in Ayurveda commenced in New Delhi on Sunday, 4th November.

The day saw AYUSH Minister stressing the entrepreneurial importance of Charak Samhita and Sushrut Samhita. Aiming at increasing the size of Ayurveda and AYUSH business to USD 10 billion by 2022, he underlined the need for linking Ayurveda with initiatives like Digital India, Skill India and Startup India.

Present on the occasion were Minister of State for Culture Mahesh Sharma. Advocating Ayurveda as a tool to take government schemes like Ayushman Bharat to lakhs of villages he said, “Through Ayurveda, it is possible to take Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Ayushman Bharat scheme to over six lakh villages of the country. AYUSH Ministry can make significant contribution to the economy of the country by expanding existing market of Ayurveda and AYUSH products and therapies.”
