Chennai. On the back of its recent acquisition of Vyomo, salon chain Naturals will foray into Ayurveda-based wellness treatment. NaturalsAyur — a sub brand — will offer Ayurvedic massages and wellness treatments. The first outlet is set to open in Coimbatore on May 26.
Partnering with Arya Vaidya pharmacy, the salon built with an investment of 1.2 crore will provide only external treatment. “There will be no tablets administered at the outlet, although doctors will be present. Owing to the increasing demand for the Ayurveda treatments in India and abroad, we are setting up the salons titled Naturals Ayur — Salon and Wellness centre. The next centre will be opened in Chennai in August,” said CK Kumaravel, CEO, Naturals. Arya Vaidya pharmacy will provide the required training for college graduates, making them employable and the products used in treatment. “The doctors will guide customers towards wellness. Depending on the knowledge of the graduates, they will be trained for three or six months. There is a plan to train 500 graduates,” said Krishna Kumar, MD, Arya Vaidya pharmacy.
Subsequent salons will be set up in Chennai and abroad. “This is a test run that we hope will be successful. Later we will open similar salons with customised products abroad, leveraging the demand for Ayurveda treatments in the Gulf and the US,” he added.
