5th International Ayurveda Conference concluded exploring holism in the context of the Navagrahas
5th International Conference on “Ayurveda – Where Science Meets Consciousness”, at Vaidyagrama Ayurveda Healing Village, Coimbatore- India, concluded on December 18, 2015. The eight-day conference explored the concept of holism in the context of the Navagrahas. It stressed on understanding the relationship between the microcosm and the macrocosm, which can thus be applied to clinical and daily practice, and enhance positive results for patients, for us, for the earth, and beyond.
Along with Samardhana, the conference specifically examined elements, day, season, pujas, homams, mantras, body part, mind, diseases, herbs, grains, pulses, animals, colors, music, and, yoga for each graham. “People think that Jyotisha has nothing to offer, whereas they have a very important role in an individual’s life. With this conference, we attempted to create an improvement in the participants and in the world by working with archetypal forces that are not commonly addressed in predictive science said, Dr. Robert Svoboda.
“We tried to help the participants employ these subjects into their lives and for patients, their clans and families. The intention was to make the participants generate a positive relationship with these archetypal forces to improve their quality of life”, added Dr. Claudia Welch.
The conference was organized by Punarnava Ayurveda Trust and the Conference to motivate the students to go deeper into the study and practice of authentic Ayurveda and other Indian Knowledge Systems. Keeping with this objective, the conference offered students an opportunity to showcase their thoughts through presentations. Cultural programs were the major attraction during the eight-day conference. Dignitaries that were present during the conference included Vasant Lad, Raman Namboothiri, Vinod Krishnan, T S Krishnakumar, Shakta Kaur, Myra Lewin, Dr. Frederick M Smith, V Vasudevan, Margaret Mahan, and many others.
