AG rejects New Ayurveda Act

The Attorney General (AG) has rejected the new Ayurveda Act. The proposed new Act had sought more powers to take legal action on those violating Ayurveda laws. The AG had proposed that instead of new laws the existing laws be amended. Proposals have been sought to ban newspaper advertisements using the Ayurveda name. Ban will also be sought on advertisements of Ayurveda massage parlours as most of the parlours are not registered.
