Ayurveda centre mooted on Goa-Karnataka border

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ayush, Shri. Shripad Yesso Naik has disclosed his desire to set up a research center in Ayurveda and Naturopathy in the Western Ghats region bordering Karnataka and Goa. Special attention would be given to the reported incidents of smuggling of the medicinal herbs from the bio-diversity rich Western Ghats forests. The people of Goa are especially indebted to the services rendered by all the educational institutions and KLES Hospital and Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya. However, more research is required in the field of Ayurveda and hence, promoting research and supporting institutions like KLE would be of high priority.
