The Ministry of AYUSH is contemplating setting up an AYUSH hospital in Kazakhstan, and it is in advanced stages of establishing an Ayurveda college in Bangladesh, the syllabus for which has already been drafted by an advisory committee. The Ministry is receiving similar requests from other countries, as the ancient Indian systems of medicine (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) have started gaining greater acceptance around the world, particularly after the Department of AYUSH got separated from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. International protocols laid down by the World Health Organisation were coming in the way of AYUSH. The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) has been getting the complete support of the Ministry of AYUSH, and research projects are in progress at 40 centres across the country, including those on asthma, diabetes, joint disorders and psoriasis in Vijayawada.
