Can Y-Break change the work-environment?
New Delhi. Now stressed corporate offices are going to get a relaxed hour. If the plan of AYUSH successfully adopted, Y-BREAK will be the game-changer. But, if it becomes ornamental and is reduced to a mere ritual or PR practice, don’t expect any revolution in government institutions or private offices. Some of the experts talking to Ayurved Sutra expressed their concern over the “TRUE” participation of offices & institutions. It has been a fashion to talk about Yoga and a corporate wellness regime but the seriousness shown by AYUSH needs to be truly supported by organizations. The work culture needs to be inclusive and if employees and employers both go hand-in-hand than this initiative can do miracles. Y-Brek is not a leisure interval during office time, it is for the real re-energizing to work more efficiently.
Ministry of AYUSH has developed this program with the help of reputed Yoga experts and the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga. Under this initiative trials of Y-break protocol were launched by the AYUSH ministry this week. According to ministry officials, some of the reputed institutions including Ernst & Young and Tata Chemicals joined the trial. Y-Break or Yoga Break is designed as a bunch of 5-minute light exercises to help professionals de-stress and fresh. Earlier, Ayush ministry has written FICCI to issue a circular for implementing the Yoga in corporate offices for employees. Ayush was working on this module since the last 3-4 months, with the help of some renowned experts. Ministry is ready to provide all the necessary help and assistance to corporate houses and institutions to implement this protocol. A booklet is printed and a film is made to be shown in institutions to understand the Y-break, the 5-minute exercise module. Ayush is working on further steps towards helping the stressed workers, informed an official.
