Global footing – Latvia varsity inks pact for Ayurveda course
Arya Vaidya Chikitsalayam and Research Institute entered into a MoU with the University of Latvia to offer Ayurvedic Continuing Education Programmes. Western medical doctors would be trained in a professional way both intended to help Ayurveda get a stronger global footing. The proposed programmes, as per the agreement, will be conducted by a reputed university in Europe and the first course will commence in September 2014.
The MoU was signed in Latvia in the presence of Banshri Bose Harrison, Ambassador of India to Sweden and Latvia. An agreement on Cooperation in the field of Health Care and Medical Science was signed between India and Latvia in 2012. It envisaged cooperation in exchange of information including on Ayurveda. This MoU is significant in the history of globalization of Ayurveda.
