To benefit from Ayurvedic wisdom, it is important to understand the concept of karma. The process of karmic evolution is widely misunderstood and misinterpreted. The results of previous karma are taken into account rigidly, and a deterministic attitude is made for the present life. The status and quality of life in this birth is dependent upon our accumulated karma from previous lives. The fruits of some of our actions are experienced in the same life and remaining balance accounts for the quality and circumstances of the next life. The sum total of the previous karma appears in the form of samskara in the next life. Samskara can be best described as the residual memory, attitude and aptitude from the previous lives. Our situation and circumstances of birth and the persons we are connected to is karmic.
