Madhya Pradesh CM Chouhan at concluding function of International Herbal Fair
Herbal aphrodisiacs and herbal medicines for mental health, sciatica, joint pain, memory loss, blood pressure, diabetes, skin diseases, hemorrhoids, gynecological disorders, etc. were available in abundance at the International Herbal Fair. Free Ayurveda consultations by Ayurveda experts were also provided at the Fair.
Madhya Pradesh is a state where forests are spread in an area of 95,000 square kilometers which accounts for 31 per cent of the total geographical area of the state. The herbs and plants of medicinal importance are found in abundance in these forests. Madhya Pradesh Minor Forest Produce Cooperative Federation has been organizing herbal fairs since 2001. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while addressing the concluding function of International Herbal Fair said that that Madhya Pradesh’s forests are replete with herbs and research in manufacture of Ayurvedic medicines will be promoted. He said that a global level Ayurveda Sammelan should be held during Simhastha 2016 so that Ayurveda knowledge and products available in Madhya Pradesh can be introduced at international level.
The state government will promote manufacture of forest produce-based medicines and will also leave no stone unturned in their marketing and branding. Strategy will be chalked out to give a strong base of marketing to Vindhya Valley herbal products through mutual cooperation and coordination of departments. In accordance with it, Vindhya Valley products will be displayed at Sanchiparlours.
