Navi Mumbai Ayurvedic doctor to receive Aryrbhatta Award in the US
In a positive development, city-based Ayurvedic doctor Amar Dwivedi has been chosen for the International Aryrbhatta Award by the Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America (AAPNA). AAPNA is one of the pioneer organisations of registered Ayurvedic specialists based in the USA.
Presently, Dr Dwivedi is working as an associate professor and in charge of the surgery department in Dr DY Patil Ayurvedic Hospital, Navi Mumbai. He is a well known proctologist and ano-rectal surgeon in Thane and is the director of SARC (Specialty Ano-Rectal Clinic).
Dr Dwivedi has been selected for his research work and invention in the field of Ayurveda. He has done extensive works in ano-rectal surgical practice and invented ADR- Ksharsutra Kit’ which is a disposable, non-traumatic, advanced ‘Ksharsutra carrier cum application device’, useful in fistula management. Dr Dwivedi has applied for the patent with the Intellectual Property of India (IPI) as the invention is a breakthrough in fistula management by making the entire procedure very smooth and will be helpful in globalization of Ksharsutra technique for fistula ablation and acceptable to modern surgeons.
Dr Dwivedi is a recipient of Dhanvantari Award, Tathagat International Excellence Award, Panacea Excellence Award, Thane Gunijan Award, and Special Achievement Award for his extraordinary contribution to health services. His book ‘Ayurveda & Cardiac disorders’ is included in the syllabus of MUHS (Maharashtra University of Health Sciences). This book has also received ‘Best English Ayurveda Text Book Award ’rewarded by the Institute of Indian Medicine and Deerghayu International in June 2011.
Further, Dr Dwivedi has also presented many research papers in national and international conferences and his scientific papers have been published in various peer review international indexed journals like J-AIM, IJAR, AYU, IJRAP, IAMJ, UJAHM, Journal of NIMA, Ayurveda Patrika among others.
