North Olmsted schedules free monthly yoga events at the Community Cabin
When North Olmsted Senior Center Administrator Jackie Chavez Anderson isn’t at that Lorain Road facility, she can often be found pursuing her passion as an Ayurveda health educator and registered yoga teacher. That’s why it made sense for her to step forward as a volunteer guest speaker for the Yoga + Ayurveda Workshop scheduled from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Feb. 8 at the Community Cabin. After offering free yoga in the North Olmsted Community Park over the last few summers, several of the participants expressed that they desired yoga throughout the winter months, as well. The impetus behind the ongoing yoga and holistic health choices offering free monthly events to the community focuses on alternative ways to create or maintain a healthy lifestyle. The first such yoga event held last month included nearly 50 participants, who expressed appreciation and interest in attending future programs. The upcoming event allows attendees to learn about Ayurveda, which is a philosophy that empowers individuals to ignite their inner healer through conscious personal accountability for their own lifestyle habits.
