Panchakarma Therapy Centers to be opened at 5 AYUSH hospitals of Odisha
The National Health Policy envisaged integration of Indian systems of medicine and Homoeopathy with the National health care delivery system. For making health services available to people, construction of 47 dispensary buildings and 2 College buildings under state funding are in progress. Up-gradation of 8 AYUSH and 25 nos. of staff quarters are in progress. Steps have been taken to construct 200 new dispensary buildings and 25 staff quarters of dispensary.
Involvement of AYUSH doctors in National Health Programme is the new initiative undertaken by the Directorate of Ayush. Setting up of Central Research Institute with 100 bedded hospital of Yoga & Naturopathy in the state, Establishment of AYUSH wings in district allopathy hospitals have been given priority. Yoga training programme, Orientation training programme for Ayurveda, Unani and Homoeopathic medical officers are going to be organized shortly. Panchakarma therapy center is going to be established soon in AYUSH tertiary hospitals under PPP mode. Govt. of India has sanctioned Rs. 59 lakhs initially for establishment of Panchakarma units. The speciality clinics will be opened at 5 AYUSH hospitals of the state.
The Sir Sunderlal Hospital of Banaras Hindu University is going to begin round the clock Ayurveda emergency service and Ayurveda OPD at the hospital.
