Plugged world-class, Hoshiarpur varsity fails to update website
Hoshiarpur-based Guru Ravidas Ayurved University, touted as a world-class centre for Ayurveda, yoga, unani, siddha, and homeopathy (AYUSH) education, has failed to keep abreast of advancement in technology. Despite appointing a programmer, the university has failed to update its website regularly. The “About Us” page carries the introductory message by former medical education and research minister Tikshan Sud who has long ceased to be even an MLA, but the university has not made the amendment on the website. The links to pages on board of directors, notifications, admissions and the Right to Information do not open. Some outdated information is, however, available on the website. The university’s board of directors comprises 13 members, including the state chief secretary. An organization’s website is a gateway to all kinds of information a user needs about it, but sadly, the university has made no effort to update its website in such a technologically advanced world. The vice-chancellor was not available for comment, but deputy registrar KP Singh said the website would be updated soon.
