Punjab govt to act against ‘misleading’ ads by Ayurveda firms
The Punjab government today directed private ayurveda practitioners and Ayurveda Siddha and Unani (ASU) drug manufacturers and firms to stop putting up “objectionable advertisements” in the media. Those indulging in such practices would be booked under the Drug and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisement) Act, 1954. “Steps have been taken to save the life of common public and prevent them from harassment due to such misleading advertisements.
Notices have been issued to 35 private ayurveda practitioners to immediately stop such objectionable advertisement and action has been pursued against them under the Drug and Magic Remedies (objectionable advertisement) Act.
