SPMVV opens Ayurveda garden
Tirupati. As part of the World Environment Day, Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV) recently
opened a new Ayurveda garden with 1,200 saplings of medicinal plants, which was inaugurated by Vice-
Chancellor V. Durga Bhavani.
Stressing on ‘collective responsibility’ to preserve earth’s biodiversity and natural heritage, she asked
the students and researchers of sericulture, biotechnology, microbiology and pharmacy departments to
use the garden for their projects.
She highlighted the year’s theme of curbing illegal trade of wildlife, which could lead to extinction of
precious species.
