Tennis legend Steffi Graf appointed as Kerala’s Ayurveda Brand Ambassador

The 46 – year – old German tennis legend Stefanie ‘Steffi’ Graf, who reined the field of sports for nearly two decades in 1980s and 1990s, will now promote Kerala’s famed Ayurveda system of healthcare. She has been appointed as the Ayurveda brand ambassador of Kerala as part of the department’s ‘Visit Kerala Scheme’ on June 24. The cabinet took a decision in this regard and the state Tourism Department had reached an agreement with the former World’s No. 1 tennis player. The reason behind choosing Graf as the ambassador is to promote and facilitate Ayurveda, which is an ancient system of traditional health care plus it will also attract foreign tourists due to the mass popularity of the celebrity who typically represents the cosmopolitan and consumerist values of the West.
