The Book of Abstracts released at 8th WAC
Ahmedabad: To stress the importance of documentation evidence The Book of Abstracts was released on the occasion of 8th World Ayurveda Congress. On the occasion Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH said, “The Book of Abstracts is a learning opportunity for the participants in the documentation of Morbidity Statistics in a sustainable manner. I am pleased to note that The Book of Abstracts would certainly facilitate in disseminating the knowledge gained to others who could not make it to the WAC events.”
Speaking on the same line Dr.K.S. Dhiman, Chairman, National Organising Committee, 8th WAC said, “WAC is a confidence boosting arena and this is evident if one studies the documentation of WAC from its first Kochi event until the current 8th WAC event collaterals and documents. This Book of Abstracts is also one of the most important documentation evidence. WAC has helped in making the much needed paradigm shift from the ‘traditional’ to modern thinking process in Ayurveda, without losing the traditional essence of Ayurveda.”
Further, Jayant Rao Sahasrabudhe, Organising Secretary, Vijana Bharati added, “The 8th WAC’s theme is ‘Re-aligning the Focus on Health’, which aims to integrate and balance the body, mind and spirit, which emphasizes the need for preventing diseases. In today’s world which is facing severe stress and pollution, such a system which focuses on prevention is more appropriate. This realignment is being discussed under different contexts in the sessions of the 8th WAC and a consolidated documentation of all these deliberations are part of this abstract.”
The World Ayurveda Congress (WAC) is a platform established by World Ayurveda Foundation to propagate Ayurveda globally in its true sense. The first World Ayurveda Congress (WAC) was held in 2002 at Kochi as an outreach programme, to create greater awareness and opportunities in the practice, science, and trade of Ayurveda. The subsequent Congresses organised at Pune, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Delhi and Kolkata not only helped in promoting Ayurveda within the country but also had a huge impact in propagating Ayurveda globally.
