Tripura to support Agar tree plantation, start Agar Conservation Foundation
Agartala. Agartala is named after Agar. Agar is used for its medicinal properties as well as its oil is export oriented product. There is high demand of Agar but supply is low. Now, Tripura
government has decided to support Agar cultivation. It is believed that through Agar Conservation foundation , Agar plantation will convert in to a profitable business. It will generate employment and money. Tripura Forest and Tribal welfare minister told media that government is working on all options for the economic empowerment of rural and tribal population. Agar cultivation will help in this direction.
