Verify papers or get sacked: Chhattisgarh government to medics
Chhattisgarh health department has issued notices to medical officers (MOs), who were recruited online and posted without document verification on June 10. The department has asked MOs to get their credentials verified between July 15 and July 17, failing which they will be sacked.
As reported earlier, some Ayurveda and Homeopathic practitioners also found their way to the final list even when the posts were reserved for MBBS qualified doctors. It was due to apparent pressure from the state government that the health department had to fill up seats, issue posting orders of MOs, without mandatory verification of credentials.
This is the third time the department has issued dates for verification of documents. So far, only 234 of 494 recruited MOs have got the verification done and 20% of them (42) have been found ineligible for the job. Besides, those rejected include MBBS students, who hadn’t completed their mandatory one-year internships.
