It is described as the nectar creeper “Amritavalli” which signifies its use for revitalisation and its importance in Ayurveda. It is considered as the wonder drug, as it possess immense medicinal value and acts on the body and removes the toxins /harmful components from the body.

Guduchi protects and guards body against diseases. Hence it is named – Guduchi. Guduchi is clearly an herb with extremely great potent medicinal qualities, qualities that were recognised by the ancient rishis in Vedic times, long before modern scientific technology, now modern science is able to evaluate and recognise many of the medicinal properties of Guduchi. It is also called as “chinnodbhava” (able to grow even if cut).
