PM Narendra Modi inaugurates Vision Conclave at GAF 2016
Swapna Nagari, Kozhikode: Amidst much anticipation and preparations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated ‘Vision Conclave’ at the Global Ayurveda Festival (GAF), 2016 here in Kozhikode on February 2, 2016.
During his visit, the Prime Minister called upon to make India a global destination of ayurveda. “The Centre was duty-bound to promote the traditional systems of medicine, including Ayurveda, in the country,” he said.
“India can be a leader in making India, a hub of affordable holistic healthcare in the world. Our government is fully committed to the promotion of ayurveda. A separate ministry has been formed for promoting ayurveda and traditional medicine,” he further added.
To promote the science, he adhered that the government would set up research facilities and supports to propagate and popularise the system. “We do need to look beyond the provided health care; a combination of physical and mental wellness by widening the horizon of traditional system of medicine,” he explained.
Narendra Modi urged the young Ayurveda practitioners to enter into start up venture by introducing integrated medical practices as the real potential of ayurveda is still untapped due to many reasons like inadequate scientific scrutiny maintaining standard and quality of medicine.
The function was presided over by the Shripad Yesso Naik, Union Minister for AYUSH. Present on the occasion were Kerela’s Chief Minister Oommen Chandy as well.
