Going Organic is the Only Way
She is the director of the Research Foundation for Science, Technology, and Natural Resource Policy in Dehradun. She is the recipient of numerous awards and prizes, including the 1998 Alfonso Comin award and the 1993 Right Livelihood Award, also known as the Alternative Nobel Prize. She has written more than a dozen books, including Soil Not Oil, Making Peace with the Earth, Stolen Harvest, Monocultures of the Mind, Staying Alive: Women, Ecology and Development, and Biopiracy. A physicist and philosopher of science and a strong advocate of sustainability, self-determination, women’s rights, and environmental justice, Dr. Vandana Shiva speaks to Shruti Prabhakar about how organic is here to stay and her efforts of protecting biodiversity .
