Adolescence – An Ayurvedic View
Adolescence is a period of transition. As one season transforms into the next with a period of ritu sandhi kala between the two, so does childhood transform into adulthood with adolescence as the period of sandhi kala between the two. Prakriti (body constitution) is a common factor among all living beings, yet it is highly individual. The prakriti is drawn from personal traits, and then in turn gives further information about the individual by providing a template along which to expect further development in them.
