Are we on the right path?
Several research studies have shown that despite being much wealthier in terms of money, resources, and facilities that we have today, we are actually no happier than we were five decades ago. The primary reason for this, as per these studies, is the decline in general kindness toward others and the increased focus on self.
Historically, the Indian society was known and respected worldwide for its mannerism, respectfulness, hospitability, and spiritual wisdom. Then, a few decades back, globalization of the world economy shrunk the dimensions of the globe in more ways than one. As a result, we ourselves started looking at our society as manner-obsessed, not aggressive enough for market competition, and too hospitable for our own good.
