EAT,ATE, MEDITATE
A friend of mine, Anand Anaam, has been organising food meditation events in various public institutes in Delhi and other cities. He facilitates this unique meditation without any pomp and show, without any publicity as he does not want it to be crowded. It is a very silent event. His concept is: Be present to the food and don’t talk while eating, even better if you enter into a space of no-thought. This space no-though does happen actually, even for a split second, when your whole being enjoys the food, not just your taste-buds.
One must remember that the state of our mind when we eat is much more important than what we eat. Osho reminds us: Food will affect you differently if you eat joyously, happily, or if you eat when you are filled with sadness and worry. If you are eating in a worried state, then even the best food will have a poisonous effect. And if you are eating with joy then it is possible that sometimes even poison may not be able to have its total effect on you. It is very possible. So what state of mind you eat in is important.
