The extract of medicinal plants or herbs in water is called ‘tea`, or more precisely, tisane. Preparing tisane is the simplest way of extracting therapeutically active substances from medicinal plants. A cup of herbal tea is the perfect “Pyaala” for life.
Medicinal herbs, as the name implies, contain therapeutically useful constituents. To effectively extract the medicinal substance with, and in water, it is necessary either to break the plant material of bark, root and wood into small pieces, or reduce it to powder (leaves, for example). This allows the water to penetrate into the deep»seated vegetable cells and dissolve the therapeutically active constituents therein.
