Cervical Spondylosis and Frozen Shoulder
Cervical Spondylosis is the medical term used for what in general parlance is wry neck or a stiff painful neck . This is an age related condition in which the aging joints between the neck vertebrae degenerate. In the process, the intervertebral disc degenerates, looses shape and narrows. Besides, the degeneration causes small bony spicules to form that project backwards. The cervical nerves passing between the two vertebra, get pinched or irritated by the bony spicules. As a result the muscles of the neck undergo a painful spasm. This is nature’s response to prevent abnormal movements between cervical vertebrae.
